TR Produces “Mission to Morocco” for CJP

February 8, 2021 – During the height of the Covid Pandemic, CJP’s (Combined Jewish Philanthropies) Women’s Philanthropy group desired to create a program to allow participants to “travel” to Morocco without leaving the comfort of their homes.

At that time, many were longing to travel somewhere to see something new: To explore the bustling streets of a new city, smell and taste exotic Mediterranean spices and food in an open air market, and to meet new people… but in this case virtually!

While they could not gather in person for their CJP Annual Pomegranate Society & Friends Event, this year, a virtual mission was just the ticket to put winter on mute and take them on A Journey Through the Senses. They would see the impact that they made together as philanthropists with CJP and feel the warmth that comes from gathering with their Women’s Philanthropy friends.

Together, they explored Morocco through their senses and enjoyed:

– Seeing various Moroccan cities like Casablanca, Rabat, and Marrakech
– Learning about the Moroccan Jewish community and how their support is impacting those communities
– Viewing a cooking demonstration of a traditional Moroccan dish –
– Enjoy a Moroccan music performance… And much more!

The two day program was a big success and over 300 women attended.

Here is the intro to the program:

Austin’s powerful voice filled the theatre with beloved tunes like “Baby Come to Me” and warm tearjerkers like “What the World Needs Now.” Austin was joined for two numbers by North Shore native Amanda Mena, a young powerhouse all her own. The first song “Over My Shoulder” was written by Dawn Carroll. The second song is “Love Train”,  an upbeat version of the big hit by the Ojays.

TR Produces Final Report Video for Ariadne Lab’s BetterBirth Study

From 2014-2018, Ariadne Labs and its global partners led one of the largest studies ever conducted in maternal and newborn health to test the BetterBirth program in Uttar Pradesh, India. With more than 300,000 women and newborns, the BetterBirth Study was the first study to rigorously demonstrate large-scale, broad-based improvement in care during the 48-hour period of labor and delivery when women and newborns face the greatest risk of death and complications.

TR Productions produced a 5 minute video to support and accompany the final printed report about the BetterBirth Study. The video included custom animations, illustrations, and an original music track.

Globally, we have made great strides in lowering the deaths of women and newborns; however, there is substantial room for improvement as childbirth remains the No. 2 killer of women of childbearing age. Almost all of these deaths are in low-resource settings, and the vast majority are preventable.

Poor quality of childbirth care in health facilities has been recognized as a major contributor to maternal and neonatal deaths, remaining an unfinished challenge for global health. While no single intervention alone can address the problem, improving the quality of facility-based care during labor and delivery is a critical component.

The work in BetterBirth was focused on improving facility-based care during the period of highest risk of death and complications for women and babies – the 48 hours around childbirth. The BetterBirth Program used the World Health Organization’s (WHO) Safe Childbirth Checklist, a powerful tool that supports birth attendants to consistently deliver essential childbirth practices proven to address the biggest killers of women and babies.
